6 Nations Rugby

In February to March 2018 the RBS 6 nations Rugby will take place across the country and overseas at Twickenham, Principality Stadium, BT Murrayfield, Aviva Stadium, Stade de France and Stadio Olimpico.

The Six Nations Championships is an annual international rugby union competition between the teams of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy. The current leaders are England, having won the 2017 tournament. They have won the championship outright on a total of 28 occasions (with the addition of 10 shared victories), 13 times winning the Grand Slam and 25 times winning the Triple Crown, making them the most successful team in the tournament's history.

ENGLAND NATIONAL RUGBY UNION TEAM - RFU

 In order to carry out their winning title, England will be looking to carry on their winning streak and aim for a third successive Six Nations title. their first appearance of the 6 nations in 2018 will be in Italy at the Stadio olimpico on Sunday 4thFebruary 2018, against rivals; Azzuri.

 

 

 

ITALY NATIONAL RUGBY UNION TEAM - FIR

Italian rugby really came to importance in 2000 when it was added to the Five Nations, creating the Six Nations. Initially on the end of some heavy defeats, the side has grown in competitiveness, recording a fourth-place finish in 2007 and 2013, and even in defeat, lop-sided losses are less frequent. The Azzurri have shown respectable results when playing at home in recent years

 

FRANCE NATIONAL RUGBY UNION TEAM - FFR

Another team to contribute in the 6 nations is The France national rugby union team. Who in which have won the championship outright sixteen times, shared it a further eight times, and have completed nine grand slams.

 

IRELAND NATIONAL RUGBY UNION TEAM - IRFU

The Ireland rugby have won twelve times outright and shared eight times. Currently ranked number 4 in the world, giving them a respectable title. Ireland defeated the New Zealand All Blacks for the first time in 111 years on 5 November 2016 in Chicago on a scoreline of 40–29. This was New Zealand's only loss all year, and ended their record-breaking win streak of 18 test matches.

 

 

 

SCOTLAND NATIONAL RUGBY UNTION TEAM - SRU

Scotland as of 4th July 2017, are 6th in the World Rugby Rankings. In the 2017 Six Nations Scotland annually compete for the Calcutta Cup against England. Each year, this fixture is played out as part of the Six Nations, and Scotland last won it in 2008.

 

WALES NATIONAL RUGBY UNION TEAM - WRU

Wales have won the Six Nations and its predecessors 26 times outright. Wales' most recent championship win came in 2013. In 2005, they won their first Six Nations Grand Slam. That was the first Grand Slam won by a team playing most of the matches away from home. Wales won two more Grand Slams in 2008 and in 2012, and in 2011 came fourth in the Rugby World Cup.
