Cirque Du Soleil - Varekai (Tales of the Forest)
February - March 2017
Escape to a world of enchantment and mystery in the beautiful world of Varekai – an acrobatic tribute to the nomadic soul. Reimagining the Greek myth of Icarus, instead of flying too close to the sun and ultimately drowning in the sea below him, follow Icarus after he falls in a lush forest full of exotic creatures.
A visual treat for the senses, wonder at the impressive set made up of four major components; the forest, stage, catwalk and lookout. Approximately 50 artists will draw you into the beautiful acrobatic performance incorporating dance, aerial performances and contortions. Live music is performed by seven musicians and two singers, composed by the wonderful Violaine Corradi who creates interwoven musical arrangements to suit the beautiful world on stage.
